How long do the workshops take?

The best results are achieved after 3 days but the group get the idea quickly and we can gather enough material and give them a good overview of stop-motion animation in an afternoon.

How much does it cost?

Our fees are flexible and depend on working hours etc. - but are in the region of £400 per day.

Will you travel across the UK?

Yes! As long as our costs are covered.

Do you run adults workshops?

Yes! The workshops work brilliantly for groups of adults, the content can become really sophisticated and we can organise a wrap party and large format projections.

Do we need to provide any equipment?

No, Butch Auntie will bring everything needed.

Who are the workshops for?

Anybody! There are so many styles of stop-motion, the possibilites are endless. It is an appraochable, fun and creative workshop that encourages collaboration and team work. It is easy to pick up and you can see the complete animations really quickly.

What type of disabilites can be catered for?

We have worked with kids with a broad range of disabilites. We can find solutions for problems that we come across along the way and tailor each animation to suit the participants. Please give us a call to discuss the possibilities and we will make as many suggestions as we can, we really enjoy finding new ways to get people involved.

Are people involved in the workshops CRB checked?

Yes. We can provide past CRB data, and aid fresh submissions if needed.

What other services do you offer?

Butch Auntie also have equipment for VJ-ing so we can project and mix the animations live along to music, drumming or as a back drop to a performance. We can collaborate with other workshops (for example, use the objects made in an art workshop in the animations).

We can project on to the side of buildings or inside - pretty much anywhere!

We can make a dvd copy of the animations made.

We can offer a free mentoring service to anybody who takes a particular interest in stop-motion animation. We will offer support by email and guidance about equipment.

We can have flick books made of the animation films (for an additional cost)

  • Carry On Doctor! - Private Themed Party, Leicestershire

A client with a passion for the Carry On movies gave us an unusual brief for this private, fun Themed Event. In keeping with the fantastic decor, we entertained the dancefloor with Ealing Mashups alongside DJ Matt Braddock.
  • 1950s Argentine Buenos Aires Tango - Birthday Party

Wiltons Music Hall is the last surviving and oldest grand music hall in the world. Auntie's visit to Wilton's Music Hall was a 70th Birthday Party for Christian Wolffer, millionaire wine-grower. Our themed Visuals helped set a 1950s, Argentine tone.
  • 'Poetry City' - Canterbury Festival

Canterbury Festival's most engaging feature was the construction of a Poem written specially in weeks running up the Festival period. We were commisioned to map the piece elegantly onto the ancient Westgate Towers, lighting up a jewel in Kent's crown.
  • Arcadia Stage - Glastonbury Festival

Glastonbury's Arcadia Stage was a spectacle in itself! Our cherry on their Cake was the rapidly deployed projection setup we created for Electronic Funk band, 'The Egg'. Health and Safety considerations allowing, we were able to add to the stage's impact.
  • Georgian House Birthday Party

Redressing a Georgian House with detailed textures from the client's own Wardrobe! This late-summer party in 2009 used the building as a backdrop to the dancefloor, with our VJs working magic for the guests to Psychadelic tunes late into the night...
  • The Tabernacle - South Kensington, London

As the sun fell on South Kensington, we turned it's architectural jewel into an animated, living creature!
  • Warehouse Funhouse - Architectural Mapping

A very colourful Launch Party, using Architectural Mapping and the best ideas of a creative client.
